Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the Senate GOP are trying to make corporations that violate workers’ and consumers’ rights immune from lawsuits—and it’s up to us to stop them.

Senate Republicans are demanding sweeping corporate “liability waivers” in the next stimulus package—giving employers a free pass to break worker safety laws, ignore public health guidelines, or flout state law and expose consumers to the deadly coronavirus. That means workers forced to come back to work by corporations that prevent them from social distancing, fail to give them PPE, and put them at risk would have no recourse if they catch COVID-19. Unsafe workplaces, like meatpacking plants or shipping warehouses, have led to outbreaks across the country. Meanwhile, corporate interests are rushing to lobby states to do the same.

The People’s Parity Project is organizing law students to oppose corporate immunity during the COVID-19 pandemic. We need to hold corporations accountable if they put essential workers’ lives at risk. Sign up below to be part of our campaign!
